Fall Service Tips for Your Vehicle

As we move into the autumn months and the weather begins to change in North Louisiana, it’s a great time to catch up on service for your vehicle. Here are just a few of the things we can take care of for you this fall here at Courtesy Chevy Buick GMC in Ruston.

Check the headlights

As the days get shorter and the sun sets earlier, you’ll be relying more on your vehicle’s headlights and other lights. Take a few minutes to make sure all of your vehicle’s exterior lights are working properly. If any bulbs are burnt out, the Courtesy service department is here to replace them.

Monitor the battery

After a long, hot summer, it’s a good idea to make sure your battery is still in good shape. Here at Courtesy, we’ll be happy to check whether it’s still holding a charge the way it should. If necessary, we can also install a new battery for you.

Replace your windshield wipers

Have you replaced your vehicle’s windshield wipers recently? It’s a good idea to do this at least once a year, and fall is the perfect time. If your wipers are leaving streaks on the glass or starting to fall apart, it’s especially important to get new ones.

At Courtesy Chevy Buick GMC, we look forward to helping you this fall with these maintenance tasks — or anything else your vehicle needs to run smoothly and look great!

2022 Chevy, GMC Trucks in Line for Super Cruise Upgrade

A trio of 2022 models from General Motors will boast upgraded Super Cruise technology and a hands-free driving experience that’s more advanced than ever.

The Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Hummer EV Pickup, and GMC Sierra will all be available with enhanced Super Cruise for 2022.

With Super Cruise, you can travel hands-free on more than 200,000 miles of U.S. and Canada roads. This system uses cameras, sensors, and mapping data to control a vehicle’s speed, braking, and lane centering while your hands are off the wheel.

For 2022, Super Cruise is adding new capabilities for an even smoother experience. You’ll now be able to drive hands-free while towing a trailer with the Silverado, Sierra, or Hummer EV Pickup. Super Cruise will also be able to initiate and carry out lane changes while your hands are off the wheel. Compatible roads will also be more seamlessly integrated into built-in navigation systems and mapping apps.

“We’re excited to expand Super Cruise to even more new models with additional capabilities to provide our customers with even more opportunities to go hands-free,” said Mario Maiorana, chief engineer for Super Cruise. “The additional Super Cruise-enabled vehicles and new features are an important step toward our goal of enabling hands-free driving 95 percent of the time and getting people more comfortable with letting go of the wheel.”

Two New Chevy Bolts are Coming Next Year

Each year, hybrid and electric vehicles become more and more popular. That’s why auto manufacturers are dedicating more of their lineups to this type of technology. Chevrolet is currently working on an upgraded version of the Bolt EV and an all-new Bolt EUV to expand its electric vehicle offerings. Both models will make their debuts for the 2022 model year and will go into production next summer.

Chevrolet has not released much information about these new electric vehicles; however, we do know that the Bolt EUV, which stands for “electric utility vehicle”, will be about five inches longer than the standard Bolt EV. This will give it more space for your family and all your gear. The Bolt EUV will also have more SUV-like styling. It’s also possible that the Bolt EUV will offer a roof rack.

Another exciting addition to the Bolt EUV will be the availability of Super Cruise. This will be the first GM model outside of the Cadillac brand to offer this advanced hands-free driving technology.

As for the Bolt EV, it’s getting some significant updates for 2022. These updates will include new gear selector buttons, adaptive cruise control, more comfortable seats, a new infotainment system, and an improved dashboard.
