General Motors Announces Ultium Charge 360

Undoubtedly, the future of driving is in electric vehicles — and General Motors is leading the charge. On top of offering exciting new EVs like the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV and GMC HUMMER EV, GM is looking to make owning, driving, and charging an electric vehicle even easier with its new Ultium Charge 360 platform.

GM Chief EV Officer Travis Hester says that customers need “a robust charging experience that makes the transition to an EV seamless and helps drive mass adoption.” And that’s exactly what General Motors hopes Ultium Charge 360 will achieve. Hester says that the platform will make charging at home and on the go easier, allowing drivers to stay on top of their EV’s needs.

Ultium Charge 360 is a holistic, all-inclusive charging experience that offers multiple key facets. That includes working with major third parties including EVgo to increase fast-charger infrastructure and access, making it easier for drivers to change the way they drive without having to change much at all.

With Ultium Charge 360, you’ll also get access to apps that give you control over the charging experience so that you can save time and money. And it will provide EV owners with charging accessories and installation services to meet their needs as best as possible.

GM Reveals Hummer EV Details

With the news of the 2022 Hummer EV pickup truck taking the electric world by storm last year, GM has unveiled another addition to the Quiet Revolution and released more Hummer EV details. As GM’s first all-electric SUV, the Hummer EV will go into production in early 2023 with a release date of spring 2023.

Even though GM retired the Hummer brand in 2010, the automaker has revived the nameplate earlier with the electric pickup truck and now as an electric SUV. In designing a world with zero emissions, the Hummer EV will be powered by GM’s new modular electric battery platform, Ultium. With this Ultium platform, the Electric EV will enjoy a driving range of up to 400 miles with a 300 kW fast-charging capability. This efficiency translates into an extremely capable performance as well, as the Hummer EV will generate up to 830 horsepower and go from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

The Hummer EV SUV will also feature many of the same features as the Hummer EV pickup, such as Super Cruise, Extract Mode, and Crab Walk, a setting which lets the Hummer drive diagonally at low speeds by rotating all four wheels. The SUV will also include a 13.4-inch touch-screen center console display and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Cadillac Accepting Reservations for the V-Series Blackwing

The high-performance Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing sedans were unveiled in early February. After giving a first look at the car at the Daytona 500, Cadillac has started accepting reservations. Only 250 models of the gasoline-powered sports sedans will be built for 2022, and with a $1,000 refundable deposit, customers can secure their special car.

To commemorate this occasion, the 250 V-Series Blackwing models will receive a numbered plaque on the high-performance steering wheel that will list the model, transmission, and build sequence. The high-performance steering wheel is standard on the 2022 CT5-V Blackwing and included on the higher trims of the CT4-V Blackwing.

The Cadillac V-Series Blackwing cars have a number of premium features, such as the available carbon fiber seatbacks on the CT5-V Blackwing. The sedans stand out as high-performance vehicles, complete with a standard six-speed manual transmission and an available 10-speed automatic transmission for faster acceleration. The CT5-V Blackwing, equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, delivers a whopping 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. The 2022 CT4-V Blackwing is smaller but just as powerful, with its 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine generating 472 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque.

People who reserved the V-Series Blackwing will be invited to attend a two-day high-performance driving school experience at Cadillac’s V-Series Academy at the Spring Mountain Motor Resort in Pahrump, Nevada.

Even if you didn’t reserve the V-Series Blackwing in time, you can still enjoy the many features that make Cadillac vehicles great with a regular CT4-V or CT5-V. Check out these two high-performance sedans at Courtesy Chevy Buick GMC Cadillac in Rouston, Louisiana.
